About

The flow and movement of the newsroom, the chase of a story, the thrill of knowing I got the shot -- these are the things that make photojournalism one of the most exciting fields out there. My name is Claire Hernandez Diepenbrock, and the art of photography is a part of me. Photography is always something that has interested me. Starting from when I was ten, I picked up a camera and helped my dad take photos on his journalism assignments during my summers off from school. A photo I took of the opening of the LA Zoo's LAIR exhibit of a lizard with it's tongue out in 2012 when I was 9 got picked up by papers across the country, including the LA Times. My photojournalism debut! From then, it's been hard to put the camera down. Art, concerts, sports, lifestyle -- from the adrenaline-rushing instants that are gone in a blink of an eye, to moments equivalent to ants crawling through cracks in the crowning of an old house, I want to capture the wonders of life through my lens.
